Is my therapist licensed?

Yes, all of the therapists are licensed by the State of Georgia. 

Additionally, many of the therapists hold national certifications and belong to professional massage organizations that uphold the highest standards in the industry, work with local governments to support fair licensing, and actively participate in massage related research studies.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Amex, Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and cash

What are your hours?

Monday - Friday 10:00am - 9:00pm

Saturday:  9:00am - 9:00pm

Sunday:  9:00am - 8:00pm

Should I get there early?

Yes, especially if this is your first visit. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your start time to complete some brief paper work.  To save time you can fill it out here and bring it with you, but we still recommend you come early and relax a bit.

How far in advance should I book?

It varies depending on your desired day, how many sessions you are booking, and desired appointment time.  We may be able to see you on the same day you’re calling, but we recommend booking 1-2 days in advance.

Can I book online?

At this time we do not offer online booking, but feel free to request an appointment here or call us at (404) 602-4054.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Do I have to undress?

Massage can be performed while the recipient is fully clothed (we highly recommend Thai massage for this) but most people find it comfortable to fully disrobe.  The most important thing is for you to feel comfortable, so you may choose to leave on your undergarments or other clothing.  You will be draped during the entire service.  The therapist will undrape areas that are being massaged and cover them back up as he or she moves along.

Do you have showers?

We do not provide showers, however most of the therapists use lotion that is easily absorbed into the skin.

Do you take insurance?

We are unable to bill insurance companies directly for your services.  However, if your insurance provider treats massage as a covered service, then we can provide you with documentation of your massage therapy sessions so that you could submit a claim for reimbursement.  We are also set-up to accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) debit/credit cards as a form of payment.  Not all FSA/HSA plans treat massage the same way so it is important that you first check with your plan administrator to confirm that your massage qualifies as an approved expense.  Once you confirm with your plan provider, you can use your pre-tax dollars to pay for your massage therapy sessions.

We are set-up to accept FSA/HSA credit cards.  Check with your plan provider to see if your massage qualifies as an approved expense.

How do I purchase a gift certificate?

The easiest way is to purchase here.  Give us a call if you experience any problems in the process.

If you would like to stop in and visit us at The Art of Touch during our operating hours we would be happy to make one for you at our location with our packaging.

Do you allow groups or parties?

We do not organize spa parties, but we would love to help you in arranging massage services for your group.  For group inquiries please contact acortino@theartoftouchmassage.com

Groups of 3 or more are required to pay for half of the service charge at the time of booking.  The other half is charged after your service.  YOU ARE RESPOSIBLE FOR 100% OF THE SERIVCE CHARGE IF CANCELLING OR RESCHEDULING YOUR GROUP WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE SERVICES.

How much should I tip my therapist?

Just like with any service, it's never required. Think of getting a massage the same as eating at a restaurant, where tipping 10 to 20% is customary.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Appointments that are cancelled or rescheduled within 5 hours of the start time will be charged full price for the missed service.  Be sure to give us more than 5 hours notice to cancel or reschedule so you are not charged the additional fee.  Parties of three or more require 24 hours of notice for any changes or cancellations.

Do you provide outcalls?

Why an outcall?  We have a large, beautiful, open space for you to relax in undistracted.  However, if you prefer to have a therapist come to you please contact acortino@theartoftouchmassage.com who can assist you with your request. 

Do you provide on-site chair massage?

Yes, we do provide on-site chair massage services.  Please contact acortino@theartoftouchmassage.com who can assist you with your request and provide you with a quote. 

What about talking during the session?

Since it is your massage session, we want you to feel comfortable talking if you want to but most people find it’s easier to relax when it’s quiet and they can focus on their breathing.  We encourage you to communicate with your therapist if you are not enjoying the session due to temperature, music, or the amount of pressure the therapist is using. 

Will the massage therapist be there when I undress?

No, the massage therapist will leave the room while you undress and lay under the blankets.

The pressure isn’t deep enough, but I don’t want to insult the therapist.  What should I do?

The therapists are very versatile.  If you are not enjoying the amount of pressure you are receiving feel free to let the therapist know. 

How often should I receive massage?

This depends on your personal wellness goals.  People often initially visit because of a specific injury or chronic pain condition.  Having weekly or bi-weekly sessions may help resolve those problems faster than if they were spread far apart, but your body is your best indicator.   As you notice how your body responds to each session you may see a need to reduce or increase the frequency of your visits.
